Annie Ayva

Conceptual Designer & Interior Architect  

Annie graduated twice from OCAD University of Toronto, & Art Institute of San Francisco, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Integrated Media, Art & Media Criticism and Diploma in Interior Design. Recently she is enrolled in M.ARCH degree program in Architecture at Academy of Art University of San Francisco.

After a brief internship working for Mad-Dock Production Company in Toronto, in 1999 she began her professional career in Cancun, Mexico, working for the Hotelbeds’ expansion department during 2000 - 2011. In 2004 she founded the firm, which later became Loft212 Interior Architecture & Design to more closely represent the range of architectural and design services that the firm provides, as well as the collaborative partnerships it would enter.

With ten years of professional experience in the discipline of Interior Architecture - Design brings a great variety of expertise to the firm. She has worked intensely on various commercial, healthcare & residential projects ranging from speculative office buildings and multi-family housing projects to user specific facilities, and institutional-type projects in Mexico & Latin America.

Her work is well known for utilizing the poetics of space, characterized by the sculptural interplay of light, material and form following norms, safety & standards. For her, every each work celebrates the unique aspect of design solutions, which are innovative, original and distinctive. She tends to stand by to the principal ethos of modernism, to strip away the extraneous and be somewhat functional. Furthermore, she has had opportunities to develop knowledge regarding sustainable building materials affecting environmentally sensitive clients.

Philosophically, she ascribes to the principle that the professional service of architecture & design is responsible for instilling value within its product. Professionally, she sets the criterion within the office for a client responsive approach to design which has resulted in a service oriented standard of uncommon success within the industry.
